Feedback not functional in Skype 5.5.0.113

The "Give feedback" command on the Help menu in Skype 5.5.0.113 opens a nice dialog asking for feedback.  Unfortunately, every attempt to submit feedback results in a yellow caution sign and the message:

"Check your connection.  You don't seem to have an active internet connection.  Please check your connection and try again."

I most certainly do have a connection.  Everything else can access the internet successfully, including the web browser I am using to post this message.  It seems that Feedback no longer works in 5.5.

Adding insult to injury, the only option after this error is to close the feedback window, discarding the feedback that I was attempting to submit.

your issue is most likely with Internet Explorer - Skype uses IE engine regardless of what you select for your default browser

for example, ensure that IE is not in offline mode

This issue is a well known bug in 5.5 versions. The “Submit” button works in 5.3 but not in 5.5. This is tested with both versions installed on the same computer.

A little experimentation proves this is incorrect. IE8 works fine, but feedback fails every time.
