Failure downloading Skype for Windows

Failed to download skype. Code: 1618.

Its saying that i'm downloading something ells and that i have to complete that download first, but i aint doing that.

restarting computer diddnt fixed the problem.

Open Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), Processes tab. Find any item saying something like SkypeInstall, SkypeSetup or msiexec.exe. Stop these processes. Re-boot your computer and restart installation of Skype.

i have used skype for a long time. i graded skype after a prompt and now i cant get on. i have changed my password, even uninstalled and reinstalled..even added a new account. help..every time i put in my name and password i cannot connect. not sure why.help

The solution does not work for me. I am running Windows 7 Pro on a 64-bit machine. I do not have any processes running which match those mentioned in the solution. Rebooting has no effect on this issue. I make sure that MSIM was stopped before executing SkypeSetupFull.exe. I need another solution.

After rebooting your computer try to install Skype using this msi-installer for the currently latest 6.1.0.129 version.

it just disappears and does nothing else after the msi setup comes up

Is your Windows system 32-bit or 64-bit?
