Downloading skype

This is my first time attempting to use this service. I Have windows XP OS and whenever I try to download  I get a message saying there is a problem connecting to download server, to download skype use an alternative installer. I used the installer for windows OS don't know what else to do.

try downloading this 'full' installer, and then run it to install Skype
www.skype.com/go/getskype-full

I have the very same problem. However, when I tried to open thisd link, it says "

Hi, we couldn’t find this page"

Can you please help me downloading this Skype?
