Disabling Skype Home screen on startup [ Edited ]

Dear Skype people,

I can appreciate that someone at skype came up with the idea that you should also get involved in the bustling social-networks scene.

However, forcing the Skype Home window on users without giving the possibility to disable it, is a poison-pill feature.

Making your users deal with this un-solicited annoying window in a forceful and paternalistic way will only push users away, and because there is no way to disable it, the only option left is to uninstall skype.

Seriously, if this matter is not resolved in a week - I will uninstall skype from my various computers; it wastes my time, interrupts my work at the office and most of all, it offends me that Skype chose to forcefully push this feature on me.

I apologize for the aggressive approach, but it seems that people have been complaining here about this issue for months, with no relevant response from Skype people whatsoever.

Agreed. Kinda makes me want to uninstall skype and use some 3rd party software instead.

Uninstall and install an older version. Then do not allow skype to modify your system to avoid updates

After installing, right click on the Kill Skype Home icon on system tray (notification area), and select “Start with Windows” so that it can force Skype Home window to exit on system startup.

i fully agree that is very inconvenient but why doing such drama if you can just close the window when it loads?

if i turn on skype in the morning and leave it on my pc all day, it's just "ONE" click.

so to say that it's their aggressive policy that they want to shove in our faces their ad is wrong, i agree on that....but saying you will quit using it, that's a bit exaggerate to me...

I totally agree. This new version is anoying!!!
