Different versions from different download links

[ Edited ]

I'm realy confused from the various download options that Skype is providing.

Here are a list of different download links and their corresponding downloaded files:

Download links.

  1. http://www.skype.com/go/getskype (from the regular download for Windows page)
  2. http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full-56 (from Skype Garage latest post under Windows)
  3. http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full (from "How do I install Skype" FAQ)
  4. http://download.skype.com/SkypeSetupFull.exe (I'm not sure from where I got this link)

Downloaded files (in accordance to the download links).

  1. SkypeSetup.exe >> version: 5.5.59.124, size: 957KB
  2. SkypeSetupFull.exe >> version: 5.6.0.110, size: 23.6MB
  3. SkypeSetupFull.exe >> version: 5.5.0.124, size: 22.7MB
  4. SkypeSetupFull.exe >> version: 5.5.0.117, size: 23.6MB

The latest 3 are offline installers. That is why they're bigger.

If I'm getting it right, the latest stable version is 5.6.0.110.

In Skype Garage it's noted that Skype released the same update for Skype 5.5.

  1. Why there are different version numbers in different links that Skype is providing?
  2. Which version should we use?
