DX error!

How do I fix this. When I turn video error comes up and disconnects and closes skype

What version of Windows are you running?

What version of Skype?  Click on Help > About Skype for the specific version number.

Ok.  Thanks you.  That is not "the latest," which is why I ask for the specific version number. 

The lastest version is 5.9.0.114.  You can update to it via this link:

http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full

If the problem persists with v5.9, click on Start and in the search box type

dxdiag.exe  <enter>

What version of DirectX does it show you have installed?  And does it show errors on any of the tabs?

It shows direct version and I will try to download 5.9

I just downloaded skype to version 5.9 I will see if I have any problems if not I will be back with questions. Thank you.

The download of version 5.9 did not work. Skype closed

Did you get the DirectX error message, or any other error message when Skype closed?

Getting back to DirectX, what version did dxdiag report you have installed?  And did it report any errors on any of the tabs?
