Connecting problem

Sorry it took so long to reply -
I am using a laptop from work so am not too sure what all they put on it. The only programme that resembles something that is a security programme is Symantec Endpoint Protection.

The problem might be with Symantec Endpoint Protection. For testing purpose try to disable Symantec Endpoint Protection.

I have had the exact same problem connecting to Skype.  I downloaded the latest version (5.9) and now all I get when I try to sign in is "Skype cannot connect".  I have tried everything from reconfiguring firewall to total uninstall and reinstall.  Finally bought Skype Premium so I could do a live chat, Took me forever to get someone on "Live Chat", spent 2 hours trying everything "Dominic M" (Live Chat) said to do and got nowhere.  The concern was forwarded to Skype's specialized team for investigation.  Got an email from them and they said all the same things "Dominic M." with "Live Chat" said to do.  Nothing has worked.  My computer is running fine otherwise, and I have restarted the Router NOTHING!!!   I am so frustrated and would appreciate some Genuine EXPERT advice.  I really miss using Skype.  Please HELP!!!

I just bought an UNLIMITED subscription to India. In my case I can hear the phone ringing at the other end, but obviously that's only a FALSE ring as the phone never actually rings at the other end and there is no reply. I confirmed this by calling the normal way with the other parties.

This is not just with a single number I tried calling but with ALL numbers - landline & mobile that I keep trying to call.

I have downloaded the new version 5.9 and on one lap top it works but on my older lap top which I had this installed it does not work please advise..Same name and password, same account

Check your firewall (MacAfee,Norton or hardware) make choir your port 443 is open.

I too have a connection problem. I have had skype for a while. Had Icon and everything. For some reason I could no longer connect. I tried creating a second account, and uninstalling everything and then re-downloading it. I am not sure now what to do.
