Can you stop the friends list from popping up when starting up the program?

If it matters, the program starts automatically when windows starts up but I get the friends list everytime as a result. Can it be disabled?

a Registry setting causes Skype to start with Windows

if you disable that setting in Skype options, you could still have Skype start with Windows by adding your own shortcut to your Startup group

and it is possible to add the /minimized software switch to the 'target' of that shortcut (after the last quotation marks)

that should solve your issue

I must be doing something wrong because I tried adding /minimized after the quotation marks but nothing changed

if you are running Skype under Win7, the target for the shortcut should look like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /minimized

note that the 'space' that separates the switch from the rest is important

Oh boy problem is back for no reason at all. I assumed that maybe I have somehow removed the minimize tag but it is still there

Yes. I also tried to manually start up the program but the window still pops up
