Can't find my contact after signing in [ Edited ]

Hi,

I am unable to sign in to my screen with all my contacts and such. I can sign into my account to see my billing and services etc., however, when I want to make a call (I use skype for landlines) and open the software, it wants me to sign in. I have already reset the password to now avail.....keep getting skype cannot connect. Appreciate any help.

What Firewall and Antivirus applications are installed on your computer?

well, I am really not runing anything except what comes from my isp. my router does have some firewall protection and I have Mc Afree installed, however, believe it is expired....strangely, this has never been an issue before.

You need to configure McAfee’s Firewall to allow Skype traffic or completely disable it.

So I followed the instructions and most of those settings were already in place, however, I still cannot sign in....Interestingly when I retarted, I had to use my sign in and password to get back here but I can't pul up my make calls screen....any other ideas?

You can try to reset all Skype settings.

Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata%, press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.

N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

Yup, no good either. I can sign in here and on my mobile phone but not on my computer with windows 7. I actually uninstalled skype and reinstalled to no avail. My computer skillset is low and I really don't know what I am doing...is there paid phone support available do u know? I really do appreciate your help.

So, Mc Afee had expired and so I uninstalled it...needless to saySkype started right up on my PC. You were right that something on my PC was interfering...thank you very much!

I am also having problems.  I can sign in but then my contacts appear on the left, but I get the message that Skype is unavailable.  Each time I try to enter a new contact (and I have checked for proper spelling and all) Skype tells me there is no such person.  What do I do now?

I am having the same issue... I try to enter my user name n password... but I get a message stating that I can not get connected... what to do, like this is my first time using skype n it is very complicated compared to other video calling sites.
