Can’t add contact, Home page unavailable

What can be the reason?

If you experience this behaviour:

- When trying to use the “Add a contact” function, a blank page is shown.

- The Home page is unavailable (Skype Home is unavailable at the moment …).

One possible reason for this can be that “Content Adviser” is activated in your
Internet Explorer. Please note that even if IE is not your default browser and
Content Adviser is activated in IE, you will for sure experience the mentioned
behaviour, however it’s not for sure that this is the only reason.

The "add contact" function was not working until I took off the content advisor on IE (even though I use Firefox) even though it did not work anyway. Sorry IE!

How exactly you removed this from IE, pl?
I'm suffering, cant talk 2 anybody, as nothing is visible.

I get a white page when trying to add contacts too. But I don't see any solution to this problem?

What is the version of Windows you are on and what is the Internet Explorer version? In IE go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.

Sometime ago somone reported that if you are using Firefox, the problem actually relates to the content advisor in Internet Explorer.  The recommendation was to disable content advisor - it only works in IE in any event.  Well today being totally frustrated trying to add a couple of contacts, I tried the fix - it works!  Somehow even when using Firefox content advisor shuts down both the home page and  the "add contact" page.  I can now see the home page and I can add contacts at will - thank you to whoever made the original suggestion.

Content advisor blocks pages with no rating or a rating too high... Skype add user is a website that it references.. I was able to fix my skype while keeping the Content Advisor on simply by going into the content advisor settings and adding [invalid URL] (Skype's Server IP Address) into the acception list.. Add Users works fine with content advisor now.

And apparently Skypes stupid forum blocks my ip post.. so here it is again.. https : // 204 . 9 . 163 . 241 For those that aren't computer savvy simply remove all the extra spaces since their forum blocks the ip address post.
