Calls Go Straight to VM When Listening to Music

I recently bought a new computer (Toshiba Satellite w/ Windows 7 64-bit Home Edition, 8 gb RAM) and installed Skype, which I need for work.  On my old, **bleep**ty laptop, I was able to listen to music either through Pandora or mp3s I downloaded onto my computer and Skype would ring over the music and allow me to answer the calls.  The music would then dim and the call would be fine.  On my new computer, if I'm listening to music, either via Pandora or mp3, the Skype calls go straight to voicemail.  I can make outgoing calls with no problems while listening to music.  How do I fix this?

...And the customer service guy I just spoke with said that he hasn't heard of this issue.  It actually happened earlier without any music playing.  Is anyone else having this problem??

I have had similar problems from time to time, but it's not related to streaming music.  I'll get a message that I have voicemail without any ring tone or pop-up to indicate someone is calling.  As I say, this does not happen consistently, but from time to time.  I'm using Windows 7 as well.

I'm quite sure your issue has nothing to do with whether you are playing music or not

how much time have you configured as the delay before forwarding incoming calls to VM?

Same for me on my computer.  Chat support is a joke.  4 minutes between communications and then they say "so what is your proper name so I can address you appropriately?".  Wastes time on silly stuff.  Never answered my question.

Yes, it is inconsistent I think. Also some days I get notice of a message via email, but the actual message isn't listed in Skype for me to listen to until maybe 30 minutes or an hour later.

If you think we should set a certain time for the delay then tell us what that is.  Mine has 15 seconds listed as default.
