Bad Microsoft Emoticons

The old emoticons look nice and sweet, and that is the one of the reasons why Skype looks more frendly when you chat, instead of MSN, Yahoo Messenger. Now the feeling is differend and I think is very bad idea to change emoticons. You should make usabillity test of emoticons, and now I feel that I use some bad chat program (for example some of the online chats).

Re: Bad Microsoft Emoticons

Microsoft had nothing to do with the new emoticons

Microsoft doesn't even own Skype yet, and won't until later this year at the earliest

Doesn't matter whose decision it was. The problem remains that the new ones are ugly and several people have complained. If they don't add an option to use the old set before they force to "upgrade", we're gonna have to find alternatives. By that time, someone should have created a messenger with Skype integration that allows *choice* in what we see. if someone knows one, gimme a holler!

Re: Bad Microsoft Emoticons

Same here. Old emoticons looked cute and simple, the new ones try to look "cool" and funny... and fail miserably. Please! Is there a way to get the old emoticons set?

For now, you can install an old version of Skype (pre-August). But sooner or later, they'll force the "upgrade" :speechless:

Re: Bad Microsoft Emoticons

I have to agree. It feels like MSN has been brought to Skype. Why'd you go and mess with something that was working perfectly fine? This, along with the pathetic attempt at merging networking with skype and not even allowing us to turn that 'feature' off, is mind-boggling. Skype has only been getting worse since - what? 3.3? Hell, you guys made the real phone number icons the same colour as the online status of my 'virtual numbers' ages ago, which causes a fair bit of confusion at times. Why don't you fix that instead of creating new and jarring emoticons? And the gigantic one window thing? Is that actually something anybody uses? Come on, Skype! I get that nobody really likes change, but you can't keep pulling that card when the changes aren't even good.

Re: Bad Microsoft Emoticons

I agree fully. SKype was a great idea. Now they want to get into my face "book".  I just want to make and receive calls tha " I PAY FOR"... If you want smiley faces go to facebook or kindergarten. Each upgrade is more crap on top of crap. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. Its called the Kiss method. Don't break what works.

YES< At least give us an off switch. Or if you insisting on ads and commercials let the Free Users deal with them.  I pay for SERVICE.... Not FLUFF. Bloody Fed UP.
