Skype 5.50.113 was autoinstalled on my Windows PC. No dialogue. No pre-warning.
It included the browser extention "Skype Call".
I work on a corporate PC where browser extensions are not allowed.
Where is the option to set autoupgrade off?
How can I manually review the installed features and turn off what I don't like?

Unfortunately, there is no option to choose or deselect the Click and Call plugin during an upgrade. The option is only available during the installation process. If you wish to, you can try the MSI version (link below) as this have the Click to Call features disabled (so this plugin would also most likely not to be installed in the next update), but this one has no Facebook integration feature.

Unfortunately, the suggests-msi only allow for accept of license and selection of Skype system folder during install.
Obviously "Skype Click to Call" has been auto-installed as of v4.2 but never so forcefully imposed as now. I uninstalled the "Click to Call" button from Chrome and I disabled the toolbar extension in IE8. Skype v5.5.32.114 again disclosed the "Use Skype to callto: links on the web" setting under Advanced settings.
I am still looking for ways to avoid the unwanted features before install.
I feel Skype is compromising my rights by,
1) forcing auto-update without warning or choice to choose timing, no option to modify settings before install),
2) auto start with windows turned on,
3) Skype Home enforced at startup
4) auto install the "click to call" functionality.......
I could continue the list.
As of Skype v5.5 a strategy of full integration with Facebook and other social systems has been initiated. Wiping out all prior installed Skype versions is part of the strategy. Well, an understandable strategy, but not very elegantly processed .....

the option not to install the click and call option will not be presented while installing the msi version, as that feature is not available in the msi version in the first place. ![]()
