Skype messed up, it seems it has to do with those silly Progresive ads they are putting on the  home page.... we have to wait till they fix it... same thing happened a month ago...:mad:

Same problem. You can download the Beta 5.7 or you can wait like me until they fix it

Deleting the folder named after your Skype window in app data also works.

I am having the same exact issue, and I uninstalled Skype, then reinstalled the current version.  I also do not have an internet connection issue.  What to do?

I have been having the same issue for the past few weeks.  I am using Windows Vista and have been successfully using Skype for the past year.  I cannot keep a connection or session running without windows closing Skype. 

 

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times.  The problem was resolved once, but has resurfaced.

Same for me.  Was signing into Skype yesterday and just as I was going to hit enter after my password a popup showed asking me to update.  So that's what happened - I didn't sign into Skpye, I allowed an update.  Since then I've been having problems.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Skype.  I updated the lastest Windows updates.  I was finally able to Skype yesterday for a while, both hardwired and wireless.  Was even able to hang up and call again.  Today - back to Skype kicking me off as soon as I start a call.  Any ideas?

Download and Reinstall the new Skype 5.7 beta version. See if it helps.

If not resolve this issue, then

 

Please do a Skype reset:

 

1. Ensure that "Show hidden files and folders" is switched on.

Click Start and then Run Type "control folders" and click OK. In the View tab, ensure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled

 

2. Exit Skype : From the system tray >> right click on the skype icon and click "Quit Skype"

 

3. Click Start >> Run Type: %appdata% Rename folder "Skype" to "Old_Skype"

 

4. Re-run Skype

 

Check if the issue persists
