My web cam works but other people can't see me.
More details need in order for anyone to offer help. For starters:
What version of Windows are you running?
What version of Skype? Click on Help > About Skype for the version number.
What type webcam are you using?
If you click on Tools > Options > Video settings, can you see your own video there?
Can you see your own video in your picture-in-picture during a video call when other people can see you?
had the same problem. I uninstalled Skype and then downloaded version 18.104.22.168 and now everything works again. You can download this version from the link below.
Skype has been unresponsive. Very disappointed because it seems many people have run into this problem.
I have only used a video call twice. The first time I used it I saw and heard the other party and they saw and heard me and I had a picture in picture of myself. Last night the same party called me. I saw and heard them but they could not see me even though they heard my perfectly. I had turned on my camera in expectation of their call and I could see myself perfectly. I had not turned off my camera prior to answering their call. Once I answered their call I could no longer see myself. Should I have not turned on my camera prior to answering their call?
How are you turning your webcam on and off? What type webcam is it?
You probably do need to have your webcam available when you start Skype so it finds it.
Once Skype is running, if you click on Tools > Options > Video settings you should see your webcam in the Select webcam window, and you should see your own video there.
