how to use Skpye with Windows 8

I'm having trouble getting started using Skype using windows 8.  How do I do video to video and how do I add contacts.  It seems I can't get past the profile...looking at various offers etc.  I'm not interested in buying anything...just want to be able to use the video chat.

Try Below:


Download and install modern Skype.


Use Windows Store.


Press WinKey + R to open the Run window

WinKey (the button is located between the left Ctrl and Alt with the Windows logo)




Type: ms-windows-store: and press Enter


Then press WinKey + Q

Search Skype and install the app and join it.




Run Skype and right click on Home screen then click add contact.

Alternatively, Run Skype >> WinKey + C >> Search


Type your contacts name in the search bar.

Select the contact then Click add to contacts.

Select / Highlight the contact you want to call then click the green video call to start the video call.
