Video Call not available

I installed the free Skype on my Sony Vaio laptop. When I want to make a video call, video calling is not made available (no Video Call button). The Vaio has a built-in webcam. I checked to see that the computer knows that. It does. Actually, Skype used it to offer me the opportunity to take a picture of myself. I asked my son to call me.  He used to Skype with me on my desktop computer (I'm using the same account) which had an add-on camera. The Video Call button on his computer was grayed out when he selected to call me.  How can I get video calling enabled?

Re: Video Call not available

first, please make sure that the person you are calling is in "online" status.  The video call button will not be clickable if the person you want to video call is offline, or selected offline or invisible status.

Another way to initiate a video call is to right-click on the name of the person in your Contact List tab, then select "Video Call".

Go to Tools -> Options -> Video settings. Can you select there using the dropdown box the right webcam?
