Skype has stopped working (kernelbase error)

I am using windows 8. After updating to Skype 6.3 I get "Skype has stopped working".   Until today my Skype worked perfectly.  I reinstalled and the issue still persists.  Any help much appreciated!!

Re: Skype has stopped working (kernelbase error)

Try to uninstall the currently installed version and install the older 6.1.0.129 version using this msi-installer:

http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_6.1.0.129.msi

After installing this version, make sure to disable the Automatic updates:

Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Automatic updates ->Turn off automatic updates

Thanks. The downgrade solved the issue. Any hint about version 6.4 is not working?
