Skype Desktop - Windows 8 - Account already signed in on computer

I am currently using Desktop version of Skype on Windows 8, I am not using the Windows 8 App Store version because it can't see people whose status's are set to Busy/Away

The issue I am getting is "We can't open Skype you are already signed in on this Computer"
Things I've tried -

  • Uninstalling/Reinstalling
  • Trying to rename the Appdata folder
  • Removing all registry files associated with Skype

Also when renaming Skype I get this issue, I had to use Unlocked to rename it but still nothing.

Had this problem for over the past 2 weeks, I wasn't too bothered about it as I just used the Browser based Outlook version of Skype. But I am needing it for group calls which can't be done on the Browser.

Re: Skype Desktop - Windows 8 - Account already signed in on computer

Try Below:

reset skype in safe mode w/n, run Skype and disable uPnP.

you can also try to disabling automatic startup of Skype.

Tools >> Options... >> General settings >> Uncheck "Start Skype when I start Windows."

Restart to Normal Mode.
