Skype Blue Screen

Hello.  My skype has been working until today, when I updated my Alienware BIOS.  Now, it gives me the blue screen.  Seeing as it has been working, I wouldn't believe anything is wrong.  My Internet Explorer is up to date for my computer I.E. 9 and Win 7 64.  I've tried "resetting internet explorer" which gave me an error, entering in regsvr 32 jscript.dll which gave me error x80004005, and I'm getting so frustrated that I can't see any obvious fixes.  Please help!

Try once more to re-register JavaScript DLLs.

Go to Windows Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on Command Prompt, select 'Run as administrator'.

In the Command Prompt type:  cd c:\windows\syswow64 and press Enter.

Next type this and then press Enter:

regsvr32  jscript.dll

Next type this and press Enter:

regsvr32  jscript9.dll

After each Enter you should receive a message saying that DllRegisterServer in XXX.dll succeeded.

Reboot your computer.

Make now the test showing if your Internet Explorer can execute JavaScript.

Open in your Internet Explorer (no other browser but only IE 32-bit version) this page:

Click on the “Simply Click This Button” button and watch the response.

Re: Skype Blue Screen

Both of those succeeded. After I restarted, I opened up only IE 32. I tried this test. When nothing popped up, I went through my internet options and enabled everything under active scripting. When I tried again, still nothing pops up. Is it possible that I just don't have javascript? I don't regularly "sign out" of skype, but when I did today, this began.

Re: Skype Blue Screen

Nevermind: I tried the cmd again and skype worked when I rebooted my computer.  Kudos to you!

Re: Skype Blue Screen

As long as your Internet Explorer is not able to execute JavaScript, you will see the blank blue login window.

Try to uninstall IE9 and let Windows revert to the previous IE8 version.

In order to uninstall IE9 you should go to Windows Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> View installed updates -> Microsoft Windows -> Windows Internet Explorer 9.

Remember to reboot your computer.
