Re: Skype 6.7 not working on Windows XP sp2 ?

you need to upgrade XP to SP3

XP SP2 has not been supported by Microsoft for over three years now . . .

and SP3 will only be supported until April, 2014

Re: Skype 6.7 not working on Windows XP sp2 ?

GetLogicalProcessorInformation function was first introduced in Windows XP with Service Pack 3 and was not present on older Windows XP installations.

If you want to be able to run the latest Skype 6.7 version then you must update your Windows XP installation to Service Pack 3.

The last Skype version not requiring access to this function was Skype 6.6.0.106 version:

Skype has never supported versions of Windows that are not supported by Microsoft, and is even more the case now that Skype is owned by Microsoft

Re: Skype 6.7 not working on Windows XP sp2 ?

Dear Readers,

For avoidance of doubt, please refer to this FAQ article which states the system requirements called for in order for Skype to operate:

https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10328/what-are-the-system-requirements-for-skype

A corollary thread to this discussion appears here:

http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/Skype-6-7-not-working-on-Windows-XP-sp2/m-p/180...

I am taking the liberty to close this thread at this time, as the topic has been thoroughly discussed in detail.

Best regards,

Elaine
