I found the pop-out to be my preferred method of using video chat, as it was always on-top and I could resize it to take up as much or as little of my screen as I wanted. The new pop-out in 5.5 is wonderfully clean, but it seems to be missing the ability to be resized. Any chance we could have that reimplemented, or have I simply missed something?
Have you tried compact view?
I guess, you did not quite get the problem: Video pop-out now comes unresizable.
In fact, a deplorable loss. From the perspective of the user experience, it' s a bug.
It's evidently ME who is stubborn. I dont get what compact view might do better for the pop-out video than default view does. The difference is zero.In what does the "workaround" consist ?
I have been using compact view all the time. Nevertheless, pop-out video remains permanently small.

Same here i like a screen that i could change in size, and could stay on top with the even without the mini video of myself. I hope you guys would consider creating a fix for that.
This is a teribble feature loss. I stayed with version 126.96.36.199 for months because of the removal of the volume control. Eventually I decided to stop fighting the annoying forced updates and use the newest version (currently 188.8.131.52) and immediately noticed the removal of the ability to resize popped-out video calls. This is an essential feature to me, and its removal makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
I don't like this new upgrade they snuck on to my computer today. Resizing is an annoyance, the control panel icons look like a small childs playschool panel, and the icon and subsequent ability to control call volume (Independent of the main computer volume control.) has been eliminated entirely. The only way to control the call volume now is by the main volume control on the computer.
