Sign in bar not showing up?

[ Edited ]

Hello, there! I appear to have encountered an issue upon opening Skype a moment ago. You see, the bars used to enter your E-mail address and password aren't showing up! However, the background image of the window - with the blue all over and the clouds at the bottom, with the little green rainbow a little to the right - does appear. It's just the actual sign in area. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I apologise if that was a little long-winded :catfrustrated:
If it's helpful, I am able to get a screen cap!

Re: Sign in bar not showing up?

The problem is with your Internet Explorer and JavaScript.

Please, answer first these questions:

What version of Windows are you on (XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 )? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827218

What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?

In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.

P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

I am currently running Windows 7, and the version of Internet explorer I'm running is I.E. 10.0.9200. Is that what you needed to know?

Edit: It is also a 32-bit!

Re: Sign in bar not showing up?

Try first this:

Go to Windows Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on Command Prompt, select 'Run as administrator'.

The Command Prompt window should show:

C:\Windows\System32>

If this is not the case, then in the Command Prompt type:  cd c:\windows\system32 and press Enter.

Type this and then press Enter:

regsvr32  jscript.dll

Next type this and press Enter:

regsvr32  jscript9.dll

After each Enter you should receive a message saying that DllRegisterServer in XXX.dll succeeded.

Reboot your computer.

Make now the test showing if your Internet Explorer can execute JavaScript.

Open in your Internet Explorer (no other browser but only IE) this page:

Click on the “Simply Click This Button” button and watch the response.
