A numer of users have had video display problems when running an nVidia display adapter and driver version 285.62. These fixes have been reported to correct the problem. Try one, or the other, or both.
1) Update to the latest driver version from the nVidia website.
2) In the nVidia control panel, click on "Adjust image settings with preview." Check "Let the 3D application decide."
Have done and invidia update and have looked at the setting of it and it is set at/let the 3D application decide, but it still isnt working all iam getting is the screen seams to be split into 5 segments?
When you say you did the nVidia update, what driver are you running now? If you let nVidia automatically update it will just take you to the current full release, 285.62, which is causing the problem.
You have to specifically get the beta driver. The current latest is 290.53. You can get it via this link: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-
I have the same problem. My driver is 290.53 Beta, and my Skype is also a Beta version. Don't know what to do.
Any ideas, folks?
You may also try to revert to the older 280.26 driver.
I've updated my driver to 296.10 an hour a go and changed the 3D setting in the Nvidia control panel. Now I'm not sure what solved my problem. Was it the driver update or the 3D setting? Anyway, it seems that one of these two (or both at the same time) is the solution to this irritating problem.
Different users have found different answers to your question. If you're curious enough, changed the 3D setting back to what you have set before. See if the distorted video problems returns.
If it does return, you know that the 3D setting was at least a factor. If it doesn't return, you know that the driver fixed the problem by itself and the 3D setting didn't matter.

I am on latest Nvidia drivers (296.10) and set on panel 'adjust image settings with preview' to: Let the 3D application decide. Graphics hardware is GeForce GTS 450.
After apply of this change, nothing changed. Only after restart of my desktop the square distorted rectangles in the video display disapeared.
