I have this popup as well, and it occurs randomly when chrome isn't even open. Please investigate this as it is a serious security flaw.
I just got the same thing on opening my skype just now. Scared the everlovin out of me. I'm not using sykpe until I get word this is fixed...
In order to avoid downloading the malware, add a host file to your computer:
Edit "hosts" in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc
Add the following lines at the bottom:
This will avoid that page to communicate to that qwindowsdefender.nl website.
For windows, you can block the connection in your windows firewall by adding rules and blocking connections with 18.104.22.168.
Also, note that zwindowsdefender.nl is used as well (although it resolves to the same IP).
After discovering the pop-up came after starting a call on Skype I did a thurough uninstal of Skype and reinstaled checking for a virus. It's still happening. It is only Skype starting the pop-up and must be Skype to fix the issue. Might be able to block Skype from opening internet broser windows in firewall or broser program. *** If you do this though u might not be able to click on links in Skype.***
okay so its NOT just me! This is good to know! Does anyone know if this is a skype-related problem or is this just our computers that is getting this?
I have personally submited a Support Request to Skype.
You may do the same by going to this site:
It appears that Skype is aware about this issue and is working on a solution.
This is an adware. Nice job skype))))
They are changing their url... but the IP seams to be the same. Malwarebytes blocks the IP... Kaspersky does not see anything.
