Is there a way to be able to share my desktop with someone that includes being able to play a stored video on my computer and have the audio picked up as part of the shared desktop? Current, I play the audio thru my speakers and into my mic. This creates feedback problems.

skype: tools - options - audio settings - show advanced options - microphone:
instead of "mic", select "wav" oder "stereo mix"/"WhatUhear".
Thx for the suggestion but when I go to "advanced settings" under "microphone" I only see the headset and built in mics that I have and not a "wav" option. Am I missing something?

Rather ME, I am not knowing your windows version and the model of your sound device. Anyway, go to the windows settings for your recording device, try to find and activate the selections named above.
Press Windows key + R key
type or paste: mmsys.cpl
(xp): click the third tab > Recording > Volume
(vista, win7): click the recording tab, set the suggested selection as default.
