Picture Insert

How do I see a picture of myself, as an insert, when viewing others.

Re: Picture Insert

What is the version of your Skype program? In Skype go to Help -> About Skype.

In more recent versions, if you turn your video on, then you should automatically see a picture of yourself as an insert in one of the four corners of the video window. The picture might be very small, just like a thumbnail. However, if you click on this thumbnail image, it will enlarge.

Re: Picture Insert

NO insert picture at all on my (Gateway) LAPTOP.  On my desktop, the insert picture of me is fine.  On the laptop, I can't see myself so I don't know whether I'm in the picture when two of us are talking on my end.  How do I turn the insert picture ON?  My work-around is to open the camera settings and see myself there (with huge borders)--but I can't see that if I make the main window full-screen.

Try to reset Skype settings.

Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata%, press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.

N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.
