I can't install Windows 7 skype on Windows 8 computer?

Today I decided to update my Skype so I go to the website and download the latest version. And I first uninstall my Skype, deleted all the folders, then I reinstalled the one that I just downloaded. And it's when all the problems start...

After I finished installation, I open up Skype, and just before I have the chance to log in, my computer crashed, a blue screen with a very big "" sad face appeared and said that there's some errors that the computer has to restart, so it restart automatically.

Okay, so I waited for it to restart. And when restarted, I checked my control panel, there's no Skype at all. So I reinstalled Skype again, guess what? Same thing happened again!!!

So I think it might be the latest version's problem, therefore I downloaded the earlier version (which I was using untill today), but it doesn't help, the same problem appears.

I'm pretty mad about it because I can't use Windows 8's Skype, and right not Skype is not letting me using Windows 7's too? I just paid to become a Premium account two days ago.

Can anyone please help? Thank you very much

Re: I can't install Windows 7 skype on Windows 8 computer?

Try to start your Windows in "Safe mode with networking".

Press WinKey + R to open the Run window

WinKey (the button is located between the left Ctrl and Alt with the Windows logo)

winkey1.png

type: msconfig.exe and press Enter

Boot >> Mark safe boot >> Mark Network

Restart your computer.

Download, unzip and run SafeMSI

http://www.windowsitpro.com/content/content/83387/SafeMSI.zip

then, Install Skype with this MSI installer

http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-msi

Restart your computer to Normal Mode. (Run msconfig and untick Safe mode)

Re: I can't install Windows 7 skype on Windows 8 computer?

Thank you very much for your reply. It solved my problem temporarily, but 6 hours later (yes, exactly 6 hours), the problem come back again!!!!!

It's the sad face blue screen again, then Windows restarts, and then when I log in to Skype it goes to the sad face blue screen.

This Skype thing is crazy...

Please post event viewer log in your very next reply.

Click Start >> Run >> Type eventvwr.msc /s

Re: I can't install Windows 7 skype on Windows 8 computer?

Microsoft intends to cut off all convenient features at transition of Windows 7 to Windows 8. So you can't opt your Skype as you like as far as you use Windows 8, which is still said a fraud of OS. Please give up as lots of friends and I did.
