How do you disable audio?

This might sound dumb, but I would like to be able to disable my "chat audio" and just type and see video..


I am often mulitasking but would still like to have a conversation on Skype with sending messages and having video, is this possible and how?

You can always mute your microphone.

You can go to Tools > Options > Audio Settings and drag all the sliders to utmost left to disable everything.

The older versions of Skype provided an audio slider directly in the chat window. It seems troublesome now that one must enter the preferences menu to make simple adjustments.
