Hello Guys,
This is Hari from India.

Today I have noticed wired thing that I can able to edit the other people's post. But only in group chat (not individual messgaes). But I wanted to know how come this option is available?

and in which situation this option does works?

I am eager to get the answer.

Thanks in advance.

This only works when you are the creator of a group chat. Otherwise, you can only edit your own posts.

Re: Edit the other person's post!

Thanks for your reply!

but I still don't understand, why the creator having power to change the other person's message?

for the business purpose Skype playes one of the major role in communication. So in that case, if the group chat creater having power to chage the other persons's post, then it can happen anything.

I have noticed that, we also can edit 20 days ago messages. This look like dangerious to me.
Because people may take advantage of this option.

Can someone explains me how should I takecare of this option.

regards

HARI

The creator of a Skype Group chat ("owns") that chat and for example if they does not like the word "F***" that someone posted in a message in their chat, they  should and do have right and the ability to remove that message or edit that message, in the event that it offends other people, in the chat he owns, and manages.

If this was not the case, then anyone could paste offensive links and text that could never be removed, forcing everyone else in that group chat to see them, for as long as that group chat was available.

Re: Edit the other person's post!

In one aspect may be you are right. But in another way, if I am doing business with anyone, had committed with USD1000 and later few days there is a possibility to change the amount to USD1500 or may be more...

So what would be possibilities to deal this situations?

Re: Edit the other person's post!

I would like to edit your post so that it shows you agreed that this is a terrible feature and then you might understand why your post agreeing with me makes sense.

If it logged who made the change and what the change was, it would be fine. But everything is very convert. Other than a pencil icon, the history is effectively erased.

Changing history is never a good feature.

it is also possible for moderators to edit posts here in these forums without leaving a trace too, but you are entitled to your opinion
