Change webcam selection after setup?

Hello,

I recently installed Skype on my laptop.  During the setup I selected the wrong webcam option... my laptop had a cam and some software for sharing the cam.  Skype detected both and I (incorrectly) selected the software option.

I'm unable to change this.

I've look in every menu and options.  I've clicked all over the Tool>Options>General video section.  It shows me that my choice isn't working, but I cannot select anything else.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Skype, but even though I uninstalled and ran CCleaner, there's something left behind with my settings and the re-install doesn't let me pick (it uses my old choices).

Please help.  I've like to setup my webcam, however, I don't see how.  I'll manually edit some text / config files if someone can tell me where it's stored.  I'm running Windows 7.

Thanks,

Jim

Re: Change webcam selection after setup?

can you try to completely uninstall Skype again, then also uninstall your video image software before reinstalling Skype?  Also try to update your preferred webcam's driver/software.

Try to reset all Skype settings and then make sure that you select the right webcam.

Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.

N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.
