Day before yesterday my skype got updated to 5.5.0124 version. Now whenever i try to login after entering my skpe name and password instead of signin in it opens a folder in my C drive (the path is C>>ProgramData>>Skype>>Apps>>login). I have uninstalled and reinstalled back but no change. Please Help!!!

Please go here and once there, click on the "Fixit" Icon/Button: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949140

Then please do this:

Reboot.

Then please install over what you have from here, when prompted please click the run or open button: http://download.skype.com/SkypeSetup.exe

If the above fails and you have have IE9 ("Internet Explorer 9") installed, please uninstall it via the Add/Remove programs function.

Stop Skype.

Then please install over what you have from here, when prompted please click the run or open button: http://download.skype.com/SkypeSetup.exe

You can re-install IE9 from here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie

Note: It seems in rare cases, sometimes IE9 was not installed properly, and the newer versions of the Skype clients for Windows programs use IE even when you never use it, or it is not your default browser.
