Call not going through

Hi!

 

I can not find where to correctly post this question, so hopefully you can help me find my way as well as answer my question.

 

Yesterday I was supposed to talk to a friend on skype. Both of us tried to call each other without any luck. The message was simply that there was no answer. What are we doing wrong? I have noticed that my contact has not shared all details with me (the status icon is a questionmark), but this should not be the reason for our problems? If so, how do you share your details?

 

I`d like to thank anyone in advance for any help they can give me!!

I have been away from skype for a while, got back on line everything seem to be working, however, I can't seem to connect to friends and family when I call, I am getting a reply that "recording device not working"

 

but all my system checks say they are, what couldd be the problem?

Please follow these Steps:

 

1. Only do Step 1 if you are on WIN7:

 

Stop Skype.

 

Be sure that Compatibility Mode is not enabled (right-click on Skype shortcut icon/launcher and select Properties >> Compatibility) - for Windows 7 users only.

 

Try to launch Skype.

 

2. If Step 1 fails or you are NOT using WIN7 do:

 

Open an Internet Explorer browser, and go to msn.com, what happens?

 

If it fails, Please do the instructions below. Using your Windows Control Panel, please do:

 

Internet Options -> Advanced Tab Please click the "Reset" button.

 

Then, Go to the Connections Tab.

 

Make sure that the only checkbox checked is "Automatically detect settings", then click the "OK" button.

 

Close any open Internet Explorer browser windows, open a new IE browser window and try msn.com again. What happens? If it works, please stop/start Skype What happens?

 

3. If Step 2 does NOT solve the problem:

 

Please install the beta version using the instructions below:

 

You can install the Current beta release by doing this from the top of this page:

 

Get Skype -> Windows -> Choose the beta release, please do NOT remove what you already have installed, simply, install over.

 

These instructions have worked for many and is the quickest thing to try to resolve issues such as this.

 

Also, what operating system are you on?

 

What is the Make and Model of your computer?

 

Do you have all Windows updates and updates to any hardware devices by the manufacturers?

My calls are not going through today.  I enter the phone number and press the call button, but then nothing, zero, zip, nada.  No sound.  Nothing.  This has happened with a number of calls I have tried to make today.  My calls have always gone through before.  I have all the updates.  What is wrong?  And please fix it.

Is your connection status on Skype Online? The status icon next to your name must be solid green with a white checkmark inside. Try to change the status using the dropdown arrow next to this icon.

I can not talk on vidio call on my laptop when I wan to talk

I just signed in in Skype and everything I was supposed to do unfortunately my calls are not going through they keep failing. Can you please help my calls to go through???

No emergency calls with Skype
Skype is not a replacement for your telephone and can't be used for emergency calling
