Unfortunately a combination of how Skype works and how the Windows Phone 7 OS works made it impossible to implement running the application in the background and activating through the push notification system.

We are continuing to enhance Skype for Windows Phone by adding more features in future updates, but we don't have an announcement at this time on new features.

Hi!     (first of all, sorry for me low level of english)

If I understand good, you say at the moment, and how works skype and WP 7, is imposible to run skype in background , or receive any push notifications.
It's amazing, that two part of the same company (Microsoft), doesn't  it something, for fix this critical situation a way quickly.
I think that was a bad idea bought a Nokia Lumia 900, with WP  7 and try use Skype.
I hope that company understand that is very ugly, and fix it soon or I'll sell my new phone (2 months), earlier than expected.
