Send message button in chat disappears when sliding out physical keyboard

[ Edited ]

Found this bug:

If you open up contact to chat with and click in the text entry box, the on-screen keyboard pops up along with the button to send the message.  If you slide out the keyboard at this point (Dell Venue pro) the on screen keyboard goes away like it should, but the send message button does as well and is replaced with the Videocall Call and Add People buttons even though the chat text box still has focus.  To send the message you then have to click away from the chat box and click back in it to get the button back.

This bug only appears if you slide out the keyboard after clicking in the chat box.  If the keyboard is already out when you click the chat box it doesn't occur.  I can't test this with other phones with physical keyboards, but it might be general.

It also happens when the physical keyboard temporarily invokes a virtual keyboard such as the emoticon map or the symbol map.

Re: Send message button in chat disappears when sliding out physical keyboard

Hi,

Thanks for pointing it out. We are aware of it and trying to fix it. Unfortunately I am not able to tell you when it's fixed. As a workaround, please use the touch screen keyboard at the moment.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Just noticed the same issue on the HTC Arrive (aka HTC 7 Pro).

Thanks for the quick response Mart!
