How and Why We Archive Community Discussions

On the Skype Community we archive some topics to ensure that our boards are not only active, but are also actual and relevant to all our members.

We frequently release updates for Skype, which means that version-specific topics can become outdated quickly. For that reason, we regularly archive topics from these discussion boards:

  • Windows (desktop client)
  • Modern Windows (from Windows Store)
  • Mac
  • Xbox One
  • Linux
  • Android
  • iOS (iPhone and iPad)
  • Windows Phone
  • Kindle Fire HD and HDX
  • Other devices

Moderators will archive any topics on those boards which have been inactive for 6 months or more. When a topic is archived, it is locked to prevent new replies and moved out of its original forum. Archived discussions will still show up in search results and you can continue to link to them for background in new discussions.

If you have any questions about our archive policy please let us know.

Did my reply remove your confusion? Do me a favour; mark it as a solution! ↓ ↓
