skype contacts [ Edited ]

I have moved my skype to a new computer, but the contacts did not transfer.

How do I transfer my skype contacts to a different computer?  Your help

will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

If your contacts do not show on another PC, try backing up your contacts to file (saving your contacts) on the old PC and use the backup file of your contacts to upload on to your new PC.

In your Skype menu at the top of the main window you will find Backup contacts to file... in the (menu) Contacts, Advanced part of the menu selection.

I appreciate this q & a but my problem is a bit different.  i am traveling and trying to use my son's laptop....I don't know how to get my contact list onto this computer and my computer is 3500 miles away....aughhh!! Can you help an 80 year old widow lady figure out what to do?

i have tried to contact my friend marc viero in spain from england ,he is a skype member and i pay subscription ,when i connected it will not give me video link and deducts money from my credit, i thought skype to skype was free??

When in Skype, click on Skype > Sign out.  In the signin window that comes up, put your own Skype name and password in the appropriate boxes and sign back in.

Note:  You would've probably had an answer faster if your started your own thread/subject rather than jumping on this one which is really not related.

QUESTION:

How do I add skype contacts by searching them when I do not have their phone number? I used to be able to do this, and suddenly with an "upgrade" or some "update" to the system, I have to give full name of the person and their phone number.. and I do not have the person's phone number..
