currently is not possible to delete or deactivate an account, if you have no more intentions of using of your account, you just need to abandon it.
Moreover, you can also first delete the details you registered in your account (or change them to imaginary values), and remove your profile picture before abandoning that account, so you could not be identified as the owner of that account.

Here are instructions for abandoning an account:
https://support.skype.com/en-us/faq/FA142/Can-I-de
Remember to delete any saved payment methods and to cancel subscriptions or other purchased features, especially checking that anything set for automatic renewal is cancelled.

That is really stupid that people can't delete their accounts, Skype accounts literally last more than most marriages, that's crazy, I want to know why, simply abandoning an account isn't a good enough solution

Hi, Sutar2, and welcome to the Community!
First things, first: for your safety and protection, please never, ever include any personally identifiable information such as your real name, Skype account name, e-mail address, or a telephone number in a post on a public Community or forum such as this. Thanks!
Here is another new Community member tip: all account-related matters must be referred to Skype Customer Service as we here in the Community do not have access to accountholder records. In addition, contacting Customer Service directly includes several security steps which ensure your information is kept to yourself.
I included the link, above, which describes clearing personally identifiable information from your account. If you have specific concerns, please apply to Skype Customer Service to request your account name not be searcheable.
Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service As you know you wish to contact Customer Service, skip past Step 2 of the instruction when FAQ articles and other information is presented for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request.
To answer the previous correspondent's enquiry, the Skype account name you create is reserved for your use; account names are not deleted and recycled. Imagine the confusion and embarrassment should someone else assume the account name, while your account name appears on other people's contact lists ... as you!
Best regards,
Elaine
