best plan?

Hey skype!

Just joined in order to use skype during my vacation to England/France/Italy. I will be calling landlines and cellphones in the U.S., also calling my wife's US cell while she is also in Europe, and will likely be making local calls in all three of these countries. I only intend to use your service during this trip - three weeks. So I'm wondering what would be the best plan for me to sign up for. What would you suggest?

I would suggest you purchase the Unlimited World Plan which will enable you to call both landlines and cellphones in the US and landlines in the other countries you mention.

To call cellphones in those other countries purchase some Skype Credit.

Assuming your wife's cellphone has a US # you will be able to call her from/to any country BUT BEWARE of roaming charges she may incur from her cellphone carrier.

This is good information however... I don't plan to use Skype to any significant degree after we return from Europe. So I'd prefer not to enter into a subscription which might be hard to extract myself from. Can I buy the world plan functionality just for a month? If not, what are my other options?

Hello,

You can purchase the Plan for just one month and then cancel it.

Make sure you do cancel it by filing with Customer Support (link below) as otherwise it will automatically renew for a further month.

Also - purchase the Plan before you leave the US (better price and less hassle).
