Why can't I switch between languages after having updated Skype?

Today I was suggested to update Skype, which I did, but after that I cannot switch between languages, for example English and Russian. As soon as I switch on Skype, the language symbol totally disappears from the downscreen menu. What should I do to make it work again?

What do you mean by “the language symbol totally disappears from the downscreen menu”? Can you explain this or perhaps make a screenshot of what you are seeing, or not seeing.

The problem is that I cannot switch between languages when using the new version of Skype application and typing chat messages. Earlier this feature worked perfectly well

Are you on Windows or Mac and what Skype version do you have now?
