Where is the "Welcome to Skype" page?

Hi everyone. I just opened an account and I mistakenly didn't set up my microphone on the "Welcome to Skype" page, and after I closed the page, I couldn't figure out how to get it back! I've looked everywhere on the site, and I'm just can't find the link to open it again. I'm sure it's here, I just don't see it. I've tried searching, and found instructions which said to click on Help in the menu bar, then Welcome Screen, but Help isn't in the menu bar, it's Support, which brought me here, and I tried searching again, but I just got comments and questions that have those words in them, I don't get the actual information I need to access the page. Help, please!  Thank you!!

Re: Where is the "Welcome to Skype" page?

I have a similar problem.  I've been using Skype for a while now.  Usually I'd go to the welcome screen to check my sound works etc.  Yesterday, Skype was acting strange and when I went to Help, the Welcome screen was not listed there anymore nor can I find it anywhere.  What to do?

"Welcome to Skype" page or screen? Do you mean Skype Home?  I am confused ... on what type of computer or device are you folks using Skype?

I know this sounds terribly low-tech or no-tech, however any time Skype starts to act weird, I sign out, wait a minute or two, and sign back in.  Believe it or not, that usually does it.

If you have opened an account, but not yet downloaded and installed the Skype software, please take a peek at this helpful information:http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-Knowledge-Base/Where-is-my-menu-bar-Skype-App-vs-Account-Page/...

If I did not get this right and resolves, and someone else in the Community does, I will gladly delete this post.

??,

Elaine

Re: Where is the "Welcome to Skype" page?

I use a Dell laptop.  It's not the Skype Home page.  It's the Welcome screen.  After you sign in to Skype, the manual bar comes up at the top, with Help at the end.  Click Help and the Welcome screen should be one of the field you can click onto.  On the Welcome screen, you can check your microphone, headset etc to make sure they are working properly. (This is different from the echo/sound test).

I've tried signing out and back in, overnight.  I still can't find this Welcome screen anywhere.  It just disappeared!  Thanks for trying.

Re: Where is the "Welcome to Skype" page?

Thanks to the link you posted, I learned I can choose a contact and click the button on the far right, then I can test the mic and headset on this screen.  Now I don't need the Welcome screen, but I still wonder what happened to it.

Re: Where is the "Welcome to Skype" page?

On the recent Skype version you can find what you are looking for by going to Help -> Call Quality Guide and then selecting “soundcheck wizard” at the bottom of the window. Confusing but works.
