Good news (almost). Having been stuck in an endless email loop with customer support for a week they finally agreed to forward my case to technical support. Within half an hour voicemail was working again. I'd not changed any settings across my multiple devices (having reset them all many times to no avail) so I can only assume they're fast workers! I hope everyone else gets their similar problem resovled - it's been a real pain when you rely on voicemail as part of your business.
So how do we get in contact with technical support? I thought that was part of having the community forums, so they could monitor issues like this as well.. Like many of you I rely on vm for my business calls and would like to get it running the way it was a week ago..... thanks.....
I have the same problem too. Support will give you the run around, even if you point them at this message thread. They seem to believe that you simply don't have your voicemail configured correctly, despite evidence to the contrary.
To anybody who is having this problem with their Online Number not going to voicemail, does your voicemail work correctly when you call your skype account directly from a different skype account? That is what mine is currently doing, which makes their belief that my voicemail is not configured all the more frustrating.
Hi, I had exactly the same issue with VM, after a few days and emails with skype support, I found if I re-set my voice mail to the skype default via my laptop login it would work fine. If I recorded my own message using my laptop mic, it also still worked fine.
BUT if I recorded a message using my Netgear skype phone, then VM would fail/not work/calls would not go to it. I had to re-set it again and start over with default message and recording with laptop mic, which is not as clear as my skype netgear phone, but at least I have it working, at the moment.....
There is definitely a problem with the Skype service itself that they have not acknowledged.
If I have Voicemail enabled on my account, and I am not signed into Skype, Voicemail should ALWAYS answer any call, regardless of what you have set in the client.
Currently, if I am not signed into Skype and I get a call from another Skype account, Voicemail answers successfully. However, if I get a call to my Online Number, Voicemail never answers.
Skype is the only one that can solve this problem. The Voicemail settings in the client only matter when the client is signed in.
Our online number if not logged on or cancel a call just keeps ringing and will not go to voicemail.
I require this for business and it is been a pain now.
I had the same problem. I use a windows client and a Philips DECT/Skype basestation with 2 handets. I finally did what one of the posters suggested. I disconnected the Philips system from the network. I reset the voicemail message to the default from the Windows client. VOicemail started working. I then recorded a new message from the windows client. Everything seems to work again.
I was rather fond of our old message, but I'm happy to have it working again, and glad to be done with the rather useless Skype support.
