They're spam/phishing. You should never reply to or click on links in "System Notice" type messages.
Change your privacy settings to allow calls and allow IM's from....people on my Contacts list only. That will block that junk.

Thanks for your post. I just sat down and this fellow has called me 3 or 4 times and I missed it. In any event, not sure how these things are run or what is automated, but the spam campaign these people are running currently sucks. Not convincing. After a twice unanswered call, no notice via text. The registered trademark symbol looks stupid too.

Hi, I have gotten a couple of those calls in the past and I replied to them, is this bad? Like, did I give someone access to my stuff?

My answer is yes...it's bad to answer calls from spammers/phishers. But did your computer actually get infected by accepting the call? Who knows?
If you have any doubts you should do a thorough scan using several security products. If you need assistance with clean-up, see this forum:

Unfortunately changing the settings to allow calls from only those on your list is not the desired option.
I use Skype for business calls. I always have new clients (referrals) calling in and, of course, their number is not on my contact list, since we've not spoken before.
Also a bit frustrating, the instructions given on this page:
Also, advises to change to calls from only those on your list - and here's the kicker for me - it says:
Take note of the user’s display name and username, time of the call and other related details. You can flag their suspicious activity to Skype by sending the said details to abuse@skype.net
I thought Skype was being notified everytime I checked the "report abuse" box when I block these calls.
We actually have to email this info to Skype?
The more you deny the calls from these idiots and block them, the more they call. They set up new Skype accounts at the speed of lightening and call you right back.
These idiots now regularly call between midnight and 5 am, waking up the whole house for their friggin spam calls.
I've used Skype since it's inception, but I'm now looking for a different VOIP alternative. These annoying calls all night long are driving me nuts and I can't simply block everyone that is not on my list.
There has to be a better way.
Rhonda

It's my impression that the nuisance calls being talked about here are Skype-to-Skype calls or IM's, not telephone calls. If you're getting nuisance phone calls, that's another story. I still get those on my conventional landline, even though I'm listed on the do not call registry.
As far as Skype being notified, as I understand it the problem with those phishing calls is that they keep slightly changing their name and changing their IP address. It's like whack-a-mole. You whack one, another mole pops up.
Anyway, if there's another solution when using Skype I'm not aware of it.

I've clicked on those before; They are indeed system messages. Is there a way to disable the legitimate system messages?
