Hi, there are things called skype resolvers now. They can grab your ip just by having your username. They don't even need you to be added. I suggest skype do an update to patch this.

I agree and disagree, I like using a skype resolver when I ddos someone or dox them.
It comes in handy, also there are far worse exploits in skype.

"I've already tried this before and it hasn't worked. It mostly just causes Skype to crash or not connect at all. This is completely ridiculous that its expected for us to use these hacked up misfunctional scripts to protect the lack of privacy and security from Skype.
This wasn't an active issue with MSN Messenger. However, this has been a known issue for years and Microsoft has done nothing to address the issue. Microsoft owns Skype now and should be held responsible for the security of its users.
As a top tier corporation Microsoft is responsible for the software that powers productivity of individuals, organizations, and businesses. By not addressing this security concern Microsoft is allowing networks globally to be subjected to potential DDoS attacks and other IP based exploits.
Personally I keep in mind and am actively concerned myself because I know every time I use Skype my IP is exposed to the public via these "resolver" applications. This directly impacts how I use Skype. I can no longer use Skype via a direct internet connection. I'm forced to use a VPN or cellular connection so my address is not exposed to Denial of Service attacks at random.
I find this an unexceptable risk and am disappointing in Microsoft as well as Skype's production team for not taking action on this issue. I hope this is acknowledged by Skype/Microsoft directly so my concerns can be heard.
Thank you."
