Skype Cant Connect

whenever i try to log into skype on either of my 2 accounts it doesnt log in and it says after a while "skype cannot connect" is it my internet my skype my computer. I tried reinstalling skype after taking it off my computer. i searched for updates. Please help

What version of Skype do you have installed?  Click on Help > About Skype for the specific version number.

Can you browse websites with Internet Explorer?   Even if IE isn't your usual browser.

5.8.0.158 is the version. I can surf web with IE so what's this mean?

Ok.  I'd suggest you try resetting your Skype configuration files with this procedure to see if it helps:

Quit Skype.  Hold the Windows key and type r.  In the box that comes up type %appdata% <enter>.  Scroll down to find the \Skype folder and rename it something like \Skype_old.  Restart Skype.

Note:  Renaming the Skype folder will move IM and call history to the renamed folder.  They can be recovered with a few extra steps.

Hi so Recently about 2 months ago.... when I was video Chatting my friend..... It just randomly came up Skype Cannot connect, I didnt know what to do I downloaded skype over 50 times maybe less....... and then deleted/quit...., Then Installed, Again, I really want my skype back to chat and discuss things with my friends please, Tell me a message/ script, to get my skype back

 Try to reset Skype settings.

Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata%, press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.

N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

The same thing happened to me. I just downloaded the new skype after my friend had recommended it, It downloaded fine and then after using it for 1 minute it said skype can't connect. I logged off and since then it hasn't worked, please help because i wanna you skype agian thank
