Responding to Phone Navigation Menues

I use Skype regularly to contact companies and government agencies by long-distance, but am not able to respond by sending a required touch tone, when presented with telephone navigation menues.  This is a particularly frequent problem here in Canada, where the first thing you hear is a request to press 1 if you wish to speak in English (or French).  In many cases, if the system receives no response, it terminates the call.  Is there any way to send a dual-tone keypad signal on Skype, once the called party has answered the phone?

What type device are you using with Skype?  Windows?  Mac?  Mobile?

Ok.  Once a call has started you can click on the dial pad button on the toolbar at the bottom of the Skype window:

Once the dial pad is in view you can click on numbers to send them or use a numeric keypad on your keyboard if you have one.
