hope you can help me.
This is the situation:
We have been using the RTX 3088.2 with four handsets for 2 years and they work really well. At the time we were running adsl broadband. 10mbs.
In October 2011 we upgraded to BT Fibre Broadband and since then are telephones are not functioning correctly.
Here is the problem:
If you connect the landline only, with no Ethernet cable - The handsets find the Base and work fine. - As soon as you connect the Ethernet cable, Skype will connect ok, then every few minutes the handsets loose connection to the base, as a result all calls are dropped from both lines. Then - without prompting they will re-connect and disconnect a few minutes later. This is constant.
I have updated the firmware back and forward, with no change and without the base registering a content broadband signal this is very difficult because I have already bricked two of my handsets.
I have made many calls to my broadband provider BT who also sent an engineer to my premises. The conclusion was the Fibre broadband was working fine with a consistence open line.
It has been suggested a number of times that the telephones / base may need to be updated in some way to work correctly with fibre broadband.
As a side note my download speed is 36,000mbs and upload is 7.000, so really strong.
Please please help us.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers.
