Online/Offline options for groups?

Hello people, 

as a business user of Skype since few years now, it's one really simple problem that I either want to suggest or if you actually have a solution. 

At my third work place now, using skype I miss the function to turn off and on online mode of groups or even contacts. At work I need to be able to communicate to my colleagues but without getting disturbed by old colleagues who have turned into friends, or private friends in general. Or just colleagues in a bit more talkative mode than others. So far I have needed to solve it by having different skype-accounts but that's not really a nice solution either. 

I also have a Mac actually so I can't use the double skype-thing, and for some reason the really good function of being able to have different accounts in one application was removed. So annoying. 

Anyone else who would like this feature or is there any good solution for it?

That's really the killer feature for Skype. No more hassle with two or three Skype accounts.

This would be a great feature on a Mac as well

I can't believe this option is not available - makes me want to use Skype less.  Yahoo messenger has this feature!

Yes. Can we please have this very obvious feature please? I'm tired of having to dodge people on skype.

Yeah messenger had that feature and after I merged all people I was offline for in messenger I was online for in skype and it is bogus. And then I can't in skype block addresses from messenger this makes me really frustrated

It's something I was expecting to find in Skype. It's really needed to be able to have everything consolidated in Skype. Otherwise, other messengers would need to be used.

The topic of using Skype came up at a University faculty meeting this week and it was objected to precicely because some faculty members use Skype for other things and would receive too many interruptions if they couldn't block people outside of the group while at work.

It would be to everyone's benefit to add this feature to Skype. Without it, it's crippled when it comes to business use.

yes we difinately need the option to right click on a group within our list to make just people in that group see us as offline.
