How do I get the photo off my skype account into a file and onto my computer. I took the photo on another persons laptop but now want to use it for something else. How do I get it?

If you have lost access to your profile picture, there is one method using the public API interface to get a copy of it.

1. You need to install SEHE ("Skype4COM Event Handler Example") a program that I created which can be removed after installation at anytime using your Windows Control Panel Add/Remove programs function: http://saveontelephonebills.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2

2. Approve SEHE when prompted to do so by the Skype client.

3. In the Command Text window of SEHE enter, then use your enter key:

GET AVATAR 1 C:\myprofilepic.jpg

4. You will now have a copy of your profile picture in .jpg format.

5. To exit SEHE right click on the SEHE Icon in your system tray and choose exit.

NOTE: Normally SEHE is used by developers, but it can be used by anyone for this, in this case.

You can also save the avatar of any contact you have as well by using this text:

GET USER <skypename> AVATAR 1 <filename>

Good morning...I was so excited to find this, but I received the following message upon doing so:
