Message "Skype Home is not available - try again later!" then CRASH!

I did a Window's 7 update, and after months of using Skype flawlessly, I only get the message "Skype Home is not available - try again later!" and then a box comes up and says "Skype has stopped working", and just shuts down.

I've uninstalled it, including going through the Windows Registry.  There is no remnants of this program anywhere.  I reinstalled it.  Same thing.

I've done a "Restore to a prior date" and it still will not run.

HELP!

Open Windows Event Viewer -> Custom Views -> Administrative Events. Look for any error messages with a timestamp corresponding to Skype crash. Copy the text that appears in the General tab and post it here.

Re: Message "Skype Home is not available - try again later!" then CRASH!

wtf.....I did NOT accept this as a solution.  How do I "undo" that?

a virus that only affects Skype?  Unlikely.  I go through this computer once a week with a battery of anti-virus & anti-malware programs.

This occured AFTER a Windows Update, and only to SKYPE.

I can only repeat that this was the case for several other users with the same error message.

If you want, then you can use Windows Restore Point in order to revert Windows to a state before Skype started to crash.
